Flute Studio Contract

·       Purpose

To help the student grow in all aspects of music, including technical proficiency and musicality. To help foster a lifelong love and appreciation of music through the learning and performing of repertoire, and knowledge of music literature.

·       Studio Expectations

The student will arrive on time to all lessons having prepared and practiced throughout the week on the assigned work. Participation in a recital twice a year is mandatory.

·       Parent Expectations

Parents/guardians of young children are welcome and encouraged to join and participate in each lesson when at all possible. The involvement of parents is necessary to ensure that the student may enjoy the flute within a healthy musical atmosphere. Supervised and constructive practice time spent between the parent and student on a daily basis is necessary for the progress of the student. Parents of young children or beginning students must be willing to set aside 15-20 minutes per day to help their child practice and/or read their assignment book.

·       Fee/Makeup Lessons and Cancellation Policy

Payment for lessons is due by the first week of the month for the entire month. Notice given of cancellations 24 hours before the lesson can be made up by rescheduling, lessons missed will not be refunded. This is a tuition-based program based on four lessons each month. The fees for each month are the same regardless of the number of lessons in the month. The fifth week lessons are makeup lessons (or bonus lessons if you don't miss any). The Teacher is allowed two sick days in a year period after which the next missed day will result in a lower month tuition.
