Contract for Private Piano Lessons
Enrolling:
Welcome to Crowley Studio! Your first lesson with us is free. If you commit to additional lessons after your free lesson you will sign this contract, and your enrollment in our studio will be complete.
Weekly Expectations
Students arrive on time to lessons, having practiced and prepared through the week on assigned work. If students are tardy, we allow a window of 15 minutes. After the allowed time, the lesson is considered to be lost and no make-up will be given. Exceptions will be made for extenuating circumstances. Lessons which begin late will still end on time.
Students will keep a daily log of their practice on the studio provided log. Students are expected to practice 5 days a week.
Lesson Supplies:
Students are required bring their music and materials to each lesson. Appropriate books and supplies can be purchased at most music stores or online. Please ask the instructor for suggestions when necessary. If the teacher purchases the student’s materials, cost of materials will be added to the monthly tuition. Every student will receive their own studio folder, which should brought to lessons.
Cancellation Policy/Make-up Policy:
Cancellations must be given at least 24 hours in advance in order to receive a make-up lesson that is to be taken within the month of the cancellation. If the parent/student fails to comply with the 24-hour cancellation policy, the lesson will be considered a loss for the student and the studio is not obligated to refund or reschedule the lesson.
In the event of an allowed make-up, parents will be given reasonable notice of a possible make-up time; however, if the student’s schedule does not permit for the make-up lesson, the lesson is a forfeit. Credits will be made for emergencies and extenuating circumstances. If the studio cancels or reschedules a lesson you will be given sufficient notice and either a credit or make-up lesson.
When a student or guardian of a student decide to end lessons at Crowley Studios, two-week notice is requested. Crowley Studio will not provide refunds if notice is not given.
Schedule Requests:
Please be courteous of the instructor’s schedule and of other families in requesting frequent changes to the schedule. We do our best to accommodate everyone, however, most lessons occur during a very limited amount of hours, especially during the school year, and can be difficult to reschedule.

Recital Participation:
Student participation in piano recitals is encouraged and will assist the student in setting future goals. Two major recitals are given each year during the winter and spring months.
Tuition:
Private piano students are on a month-to-month contract. Tuition for the month is due in full the first week of every month. Payment must be made for the entire month in advance in order to reserve your guaranteed lesson time for the upcoming weeks. Refunds and credits are not given for lessons which are shortened by student tardiness.
Half-hour lesson: $20.00 per lesson
Forty-five minute lesson: $25.00 per lesson
Hour lesson: $30.00 per lesson
Family Discount: 10% discount will applied to tuition of students with multiple family members enrolled in the studio.
Traveling Lessons: Occasionally there is availability in the studio for an instructor to travel to your location. An additional $15 .00 monthly fee will be charged for travel.
Parent Expectations:
Parents/guardians of young children are welcome and encouraged to join and participate in each lesson when at all possible. The involvement of parents is necessary to ensure that the student may enjoy the piano within a healthy musical atmosphere. Supervised and constructive practice time spent between the parent and student on a daily basis is necessary for the progress of the student. Parents of young children or beginning students must be willing to set aside 15-20 minutes per day to help their child practice and/or read their assignment book.
Parents/guardians of older children are asked to check their assignment notebook regularly to ensure that all aspects of their studies have been practiced. Parents are encouraged to review, discuss and listen to their child’s daily practice regularly. Consistent practice time is necessary for consistent growth and improvement.
